Antarctica. A Norwegian exploration team follows a strange dog to an American base. He attacks the dog almost in a frenzy, but is then killed by the Americans who were defending it. The Americans send someone to the Norwegian base to investigate the truth. There is no one there, and strangely distorted corpses and debris are found. The corpses were dissected, but no abnormalities were found. Then one day, the dog that was being chased by the Norwegian exploration team turns into a terrible monster in its kennel. From now on, a fight against the monster begins. This monster is from outer space and can copy living creatures. Distrust sprouts in the investigators that one of them has already been copied due to the monster's attack, and they no longer trust each other. In the end, they are killed by monsters one by one, and the base becomes a wasteland.


Although he is calm, he has a bold side, which is greatly revealed in the scene at the beginning of the movie where he pours alcohol on the computer he was playing chess on and breaks it. He quickly understands the characteristics of the monster, and has a quick head turn, suggesting a blood test on the spot after a monster goes on a rampage to reveal the monster's identity. When Gary steps down from his position as leader, he quickly takes over command and acts as a leader, but his attempts to forcibly control the crew lead to backlash and the monsters also try to keep McCready in check.
